Diagnostic Evaluations
Rule

Diagnostic Evaluations have been available for many years. They used to be expensive and very time consuming so companies only used them for a few selected positions. Personal Computers changed all that. Now more and more companies are using Diagnostic Evaluations as part of the hiring process.

In the old days Diagnostic Evaluations were paper and pencil tests that took a long time, then you waited for weeks to get the results, and when you did it was so technical it didn't mean anything to most people. Lastly, in the early years we were supposed to get the results of the Diagnostic Evaluations so we could "change." Guess what? Most people don't want to "change" they simply want to be more effective "as they are."

We like this Diagnostic Evaluation because it helps us "to get more of what we want from the skills we already have." The key to being more effective, for each of us, is understanding ourselves and how we come across and impact others. Often we can totally change the outcome by simply changing the words we use to explain something.
